2024 was another great year for us, welcoming lots of new campers as well as welcoming back a lot of familiar faces. Now with two years under our belt we were ready to make a few changes to improve the site for the future.
The first job was to make improvements to our camping field; as we are a working farm situated on the side of a North Yorkshire valley we don’t have any fields that are flat! We chose the place we did for the campsite mainly based on the spectacular views that it offers. As the field is just that, a field, grazed for many many years by livestock it obviously isn’t like a lawn. Whilst many of our guests don’t find a problem with the slope of the field, they simply arrange their sleep spaces so that they are comfortable, we became aware that it can be a challenge for some.
Starting with the bottom half of the field, we have done extensive groundwork to create a more level area for tents; removing the top soil, using a digger to clear a lot of the clay before replacing the top soil and reseeding with a special grass seed. Due to the increasing rainfall that we now experience in the summer months it was important to us to maintain a slight gradient to the field to allow water to easily drain away.
Another change is the addition of three Camping Pods; each able to sleep up to a family of five these pods are perfect for an easy holiday – bring everything you would to camp without the tent! No more worrying about the weather, no more fighting to put the tent up in the dark or struggling to pack it away when the kids just want to get going, with the same amazing views across the Littlebeck valley and brilliant facilities as the campsite we are very excited to bring this new option to people wanting to visit the Whitby area.

Such a lovely site who really care about the campers as this latest update shows! Also prices remain the same and extremely affordable compared to many others and with better facilities! Cannot wait to be back in 2025!
Stayed here in a tent almost as soon as the site opened and blown away with the excellent facilities offered. Then we’ve glamped a couple of times now including new years eve and a frosty march but waking up with that stunning view and warmth under foot with the underfloor heating is superb. I recommend the site to everyone I know it’s amazing
